Did you and your spouse decide that it was time for each of you to get your license to carry a concealed handgun? Maybe you have had serious incidents in your neighborhood and you are scared that your own home might be the next one to be affected. Perhaps your job takes you into places that make you want to carry a handgun with you.

Take The Class - Find a class in your area that teaches how to handle a gun and gun safety. Your instructors will have the training and the experience to teach you to feel comfortable even holding a gun in your hand. That will be important if you've never had that experience. At first, you might be a bit scared to do that. If that happens, just remember the crime you have had in your area and that you want to be ready to protect yourself and your property.

Besides learning from a trained teacher, you'll also likely watch movies. The scenarios in those movies and the instruction you get while watching them will be just as important as what your class instructor teaches you in person. You'll probably be tested along the way. And, you'll obviously get to use your handgun and be tested on how well you do. Don't feel bad if you have to retake the test. You most likely won't be the only one who has had to do that.

Concealed Carry Holster - There are so many designs in concealed carry holsters that you might have trouble deciding on the kind you want. For example, do you want a sleek one that you can carry under a suit coat and not have others know that you are carrying it? Perhaps you want to wear your holster around your lower leg. If that's the case, there will be different choices there, too.

If you are a gal and would rather carry your gun in a purse, buy one that has a place for your gun. There are gorgeous ones that will easily conceal your weapon and that are designed in a way so that you can readily access it.

Fortunately, concealed carry holsters and bags come at many prices. The holster will probably cost less than a gorgeous purse or bag, but you can remind yourself that you don't have to buy both a purse and a holster.
